Our Devil Lake Cottage is a great spot to relax and enjoy quiet time with family and nature. Here are just a few things you might choose to do at the cottage:

Frontenac Provincial Park - About a quarter of the waterfront of Devil Lake is part of the Provincial Park. There are campsites (on Devil as well as other lakes accessible by canoe/kayak) that can be rented on a daily basis. The park is full of wildlife, some beautiful lakes and streams and many excellent, clean and maintained hiking/portaging trails.
Town of Westport - In town you'll find every service you'll need including grocers, bakeries, gas, beer and liquor stores, post office, internet access and cafes. Summer is 'busy time' in town, but there are events scheduled constantly throughout the year; anything from Farmer's Markets, Art and Antique shows to Jazz nights at the local Inn. You can visit www.explorewestport.com to see what's happening during your stay.
The Village Green- great place to find clothing, shoes and an assortment of gifts
The Pine Cone- a unique store with jewelry and home decor
Church Street Bakery- the ginger snap cookies are a family favoritePerth - Perth is a larger town, approximately 30 minutes from the cottage door. Larger grocery stores, greater variety of restaurants and a decent 'Old Ontario Style' downtown filled with shops and art studios can make a trip out of the woods very worthwhile.
Kingston - Kingston, our closest major city centre, is a 45 minute drive and is filled with some excellent restaurants and shops for anyone who is experiencing a little 'cabin fever'. Kingston has some excellent historical sites as it is one of Ontario's oldest cities (Fort Henry, many museums), some beautiful parks bordering Lake Ontario, and many walking and bus tours . With Queen's University and Royal Military College situated both in Kingston, there is constantly a buzz of activity day and night.
Sporting Events - We are conveniently located within a 30 minute drive to many golf courses (including a small but quaint 9-hole course overlooking Wolfe Lake, just 10 minutes down the road). There is an outdoor paintball complex located just outside of town, and in-town, there are sea-doo and boat rentals to complete your cottageing experience if need be. There are many Summer camps in the area for children and teens, more notably a horseback riding ranch 10 minutes away which offers Summer programs for children of all ages and lessons/trail rides for all family members.
Art Studios - The surrounding area is also rich with Artists who open up their studios for anyone who is interested.
1000 Islands - We are located about 45 minutes North of Gananoque and the heart of the 1000 Islands region. You'll find excellent boat tours, fishing tours, boating and family attractions on both the Canadian and American sides of the border.
